The event was a celebration of new and old, as everyone had an opportunity to see familiar faces and meet new members, reflect upon the past year and theorize about the one still to come. As the night progressed and the snow continued to fall, more and more IDSA members began to appear, turning the rustic room into a lively, exciting gathering. Fresh guacamole, salsa and chips were served as members socialized over a drink or two.

Once all the guests had arrived, the official warm welcome came from the newly elected officers of IDSA Chicago, led by Chapter Chair Emily Gensheimer. After providing members with a brilliant summary of 2007, Emily previewed a few of the exciting events the chapter has in store for 2008. As appetizers were served, Vice Chair Michael Carrow led a toast to the New Year.

As the six-course feast continued to magically appear on the table, the room began to fill with lovely Mexican scents. Following appetizers and salads, a variety of enchiladas were served. An exquisite, melt-in-your-mouth dessert, the famous Chocolate Tamales, concluded the meal.

As revelry continued into the evening, the holiday spirit was seen and shared with everyone that attended the event. The night allowed for members to share their 2007 experiences with each other and propose new opportunities to shape the future of design in 2008.
