SAIC Lecture: BARBER/OSGERBY

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are product designers based in London who met while studying architecture at the Royal College of Art. They founded barberosgerby in 1996 and went on to set up Universal Design Studio Ltd. in 2001. Since then they have worked for a diverse range of international clients including Cappelini, Magis, Flos, Classicon, Venini, Isokon Plus and Swarovski. In 2004, they won the Jerwood Prize for Applied Arts. Their work is on display in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, Design Museum, London, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.

2009 IDSA Chicago Holiday Party: Brew & View
This year's holiday party will take place at Ringo Japanese Restaurant, 2507-09 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago. Each ticket purchase will include an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT SUSHI dinner, and will feature a slideshow/video retrospective of Chicagoland design over the last year, to be played over the course of the evening. Restaurant is BYOB.
Your sponsorship dollars will go toward the cost of food, helping us to keep ticket prices low. In exchange, you or your company will be invited to contribute slides or video to the Design Retrospective slideshow. You"ll notice that you can participate for as little as $10! All sponsorship levels also include an option for our "PDF Special" at no extra cost! You will receive a PDF template file for putting your own logo on any beer or wine you choose to donate to the event. Please email holidayparty@idsachicago.org for more details.
Thanks so much! Please choose a contribution level and pay online. Then, please build your slide(s) or video, and send to holidayparty@idsachicago.org by WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 25th. Please include the name of the designer or company in the subject line of your email. Slideshow images should be JPEG files no larger than 3 MB. Video files should be AVI format, and can be sent through www.yousendit.com if larger than 5 MB. There will not be sound available at the event location, so please keep this in mind when creating your video.
